The College of Liberal Arts offers students a well-rounded education in the humanities and social sciences and a solid foundation for a lifetime of learning and discovery. We produce graduates who think critically and creatively, communicate effectively, and work in diverse teams to accomplish shared goals -- invaluable skills that are in high demand in an increasingly multicultural, internationalized world.
As the largest college at UNLV, Liberal Arts serves more than 3,700 students, awards more degrees than any other college, and offers more than 30 different degrees. With a vast array of disciplines and talented faculty, we lead the university in many indicators of scholarship, including university-wide scholarly awards and number of distinguished professors. The foundational skills we teach are critical to the success of our students, the university, and the communities we serve.
The College of Liberal Arts is home to nine departments, including: Anthropology; English; History; Interdisciplinary, Gender, and Ethnic Studies; Philosophy; Political Science; Psychology; Sociology; and World Languages & Cultures.
The college also houses several research centers and institutes that enhance student learning and enrich the culture of the campus and surrounding communities.
Students are at the heart of what we do, and we hope to secure funds for scholarships to help deserving students continue their education. Thank you for considering a gift to:
support student scholarships in our nine departments;
our liberal arts general fund; or the mission of our three featured centers:
Beverly Rogers, Carol C. Harter Black Mountain Institute
Women’s Research Institute of Nevada;
and The PRACTICE, a UNLV community mental health training clinic.
