Learn. Engage. Together.

The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (OLLI at UNLV) is a member-driven learning community of nearly 2,000 retired and semi-retired adults. The mission of OLLI at UNLV is to challenge the mind and stimulate the spirits of retired and semi-retired adults by offering learning activities designed to enhance understanding of the world- its historic, cultural, and social aspects- utilizing a variety of non-credit academic learning formats. Our members continue a lifetime of learning by contributing to a program rich in content, shared interests, and life experiences. In addition to our regularly scheduled classes, OLLI at UNLV offers a variety of special events, interest groups, and other member activities. Prior education is not a requirement for the OLLI program, simply a desire to learn and contribute to the classroom experience, as there are no tests, grades, or credits. Each of our classes is led by OLLI at UNLV member volunteers who bring a lifetime of personal and professional experience and passion to their classrooms.

Fellowship is what I feel when I’m around my OLLI friends. It is a comfort--a source of strength--especially during these strange pandemic times. I’m a better person for having gotten to know this community of friends and appreciate all the efforts of the staff and volunteers. Life will return again to the campus and we will share our stories of life with a cup of coffee and acknowledge we are the lucky ones. - Marty Hagen, Member since 2017

While OLLI at UNLV has creatively adapted to the Coronavirus pandemic through reduced class sizes and ample opportunities for online learning, we need your help now more than ever to weather the storm and come back stronger than ever before once the pandemic is over.  As a result of the pandemic, we were unable to proceed with our primary annual fundraiser, the Phone-a-thon, and we are counting on this campaign to help us close our revenue gap.

OLLI at UNLV has been a lifeline during the pandemic. I applaud the hard work done by everyone at OLLI to continue with online classes when we could no longer meet in person... Being able to continue to learn and interact with others during this unprecedented and difficult time has meant a lot to me. Many thanks to all the instructors who have put so much time and effort into their classes. OLLI provides a great opportunity to enrich our lives. - Charlotte Benford, Member since 2008

We have missed seeing everyone's faces in our coffee room and around campus in the ways we used to, but whether in person or online, OLLI at UNLV continues to offer the opportunity to energize your mind, make new friends, and become part of a growing and vibrant community of lifelong learners.  Research has shown these types of activities to be essential to good health and quality of life as we age.

We are grateful for the OLLI teams that helped to make the Zoom meetings work. Since we can't be in class personally, seeing friends on Zoom has made this lock-down much more endurable. As ever, the instructors are wonderful. - Marshal Taylor, Member since 2015
