International Programs are a valuable component of a college education. Studying abroad helps students understand history, events, and culture from a global perspective. UNLV’s Office of International Program strives to prepare students to succeed in their careers of choice by providing foreign language skills, insight into global politics, international economics, and environmental preservation efforts that will help shape the future. In addition, the time spent abroad in an academic program provides students with opportunities to hone their language skills, find new interests, and make lifelong friends. Study abroad is a transformational experience that enhances the college experience and helps students  gain skills and confidence. To increase access and participation in these experiences, the Office of International Programs asks your help to provide scholarships that will support students who wish to take the initiative and embark upon these life-changing experiences.  Currently, we are seeking to increase the awards we are able to use for matching scholarships through the Michael W. Bowers International Studies Scholarship.  Your generous contributions will have double the impact.   Thank you to all our past, current and future donors!

Akaisha Cook, China Studying abroad was a part of my vision to make sure I had the best experience possible during my undergraduate education and to prepare for a career in the Foreign Service.  Your support has done so much for me, opened doors even to opportunities I could have never imagined, so words simply aren't enough to express my gratitude. Thank you for helping create an experience in life I will never forget.

Jenifer Alba, Japan Study abroad... it was the most memorable and fun experience of my life thus far. I cannot thank the scholarship donors enough for turning my dreams since I was a little girl into reality.

Eric Sexton, Germany Being able to live abroad and work was amazing. The best parts were the experiences you didn’t expect, the surprises.  I have been in a professional setting and for fun all over the world. You will learn things that will help you study differently, work differently and live differently… and your experience will be once in a life time.

Kendra Patterson, China Thank you to the scholarship donors for investing into students' growing and learning experiences in their collegiate career. Your investment has contributed to the elevated level of international competency and awareness within our communities.

Hunter Hopewell, Spain Studying abroad in Spain was the highlight of my education, I learned so many valuable lessons that can’t be taught in a classroom.  Studying abroad changed my life, completely for the better, and I couldn’t be more grateful.  I can’t thank you enough for helping me take a leap into an exciting world across the ocean and coming out the other side a changed person.
